Methods for improving the quality of aluminum alloy forgings
1. Drum cleaning: the oxidized skin and burr on the workpiece are removed by mutual collision or grinding when the forging is in the rotating drum. The equipment used in this cleaning method is simple and convenient, but it is noisy. It is only applicable to medium and small forgings that can withstand certain impact without deformation.
2. Vibration cleaning: mix a certain proportion of abrasives and additives into the forging, place them in the vibration container, and rely on the vibration of the container to make the workpiece and abrasives grind each other to remove the oxide skin and burrs on the surface of the forging. This cleaning method is applicable to the cleaning and polishing of small and medium-sized precision forgings. However, additives are needed, and environmental assessment is not easy to pass.
3. Acid cleaning, using chemical reaction to remove metal oxide skin. Medium and small forgings are usually put into the basket in batches and completed by processes such as oil removal, acid pickling, corrosion, washing and drying. The chemical reaction of acid pickling will inevitably produce gases harmful to human body. Forging workers are usually hard to accept.
4. Sand blasting and shot blasting cleaning: sand blasting (shot blasting) powered by compressed air can make the sand or steel shot move at high speed (the working pressure of sand blasting is 0.2~0.3MPa, and the working pressure of shot blasting is 0.5~0.6MPa), which is sprayed on the surface of forgings to remove oxide scale. Shot blasting is a centrifugal force of high-speed rotating impeller (2000~30001r/min), which throws steel shot on the surface of forgings to remove oxide scale. Sand blasting cleaning has large dust, low production efficiency and high cost. It is mainly used for forgings with special technical requirements and special materials (such as stainless steel and titanium alloy), but effective dust removal technical measures must be taken.
5. The descaling machine adopts the principle of high-pressure water dephosphorization, with high efficiency and no special requirements for the shape of forgings. Forgings shall be cleaned within 3-5 seconds without damage. Environmental protection is pollution-free and the environment will not encounter obstacles. This is a better choice than the above method.
