The deformation speed has little effect on the process plasticity of most aluminum alloys, but the plasticity of a few highly alloyed aluminum alloys decreases significantly during high-speed deformation. In addition, the deformation resistance varies with the alloying degree of the alloy when the deformation speed changes from low to high. In order to increase the allowable deformation and improve the production efficiency, reduce the deformation resistance and improve the fluidity of alloy filling the mold cavity, it is better to choose a press to forge aluminum alloy than a forging hammer. This is especially true for large aluminum alloy forgings and die forgings. Due to the large external friction coefficient and poor fluidity of aluminum alloy, if the deformation speed is too fast, it is easy to cause defects such as peeling, folding and uneven grain structure of forgings. For high-strength aluminum alloy with low plasticity, it is also easy to cause forgings to crack. Therefore, aluminum alloy is most suitable for forging on low-speed press.
