1: Impulse multidirectional forging:
1. The radial forging hammer hammers the blank in multiple directions, so that the metal deformation is in the state of compressive stress;
2. It is conducive to improving the metal plasticity, reducing and eliminating the radial tensile stress in the cross section of the blank;
3. The frequency of hammer pulse loading is very high, hundreds or even thousands of times per minute, which can effectively limit the transverse flow of metal and improve the axial elongation rate;
4. Because metal has high process plasticity, cold forging can be realized;
5. For the alloy with low plasticity, the plasticity of the pulse loading forging process is 2.5~3 times higher than that of the continuous loading forging process.
2: Small compression and fast forging speed:
1. The loading mode of radial forging is small compression amount and fast speed for each forging;
2. The deformation in the metal deformation area is small, and the metal movement volume is small and the movement distance is short;
3. Reduce the friction coefficient and friction resistance during metal deformation, so that the deformation is uniform and easier to penetrate into the interior;
4. Due to the small deformation resistance of forgings, the tonnage of equipment can be reduced and the service life of tools can be improved.
3: Precision forging:
1. Radial forging has large size, high dimension accuracy and small surface roughness;
2. At present, the diameter of the malleable solid mandrel on the domestic radial forging machine is up to φ 400mm, outer diameter of hollow shaft reaches φ 600mm, length up to 6000mm;
3. Forgings forged on roller rotary forging machine, with diameters ranging from φ 150mm (solid part) to outer diameter φ 320mm (hollow piece);
4. The dimension accuracy of hot forgings can reach level 6-7, and that of cold forgings can reach level 2-4;
5. The radial forging process is often called precision forging, and the requirements for raw materials are also high.
4: High efficiency and mass production:
1. Due to the high degree of automation of the radial forging machine, the whole process of adjustment, feeding and unloading, and forging and striking can realize automatic control, simple operation, and high-frequency forging and striking, so the production efficiency is very high;
2. The hammer head has simple shape and strong adaptability. When the product needs to be changed, the adjustment time is short and it is suitable for various batch production.
