Forging is a processing method in which a forging hammer or a press (mechanical or hydraulic) exerts pressure on aluminum and aluminum alloy ingots or forging blanks through a hammer or an indenter to cause plastic deformation of metal. There are two basic methods for aluminum alloy forging: free forging and die forging.
